What is the thin tile method?
What is the ceramic tile thin sticking method? The so-called thin stacking method was first created in Germany, and it is academically called a new type of ceramic tile sticking process. In layman's terms, it is to use professional tile adhesive and a tooth scraper. At the basic level of construction, the tile adhesive is combed into stripes, and then the tiles are pasted on the mortar in a puzzle-like manner in order, using kneading. , extrusion, compaction, positioning of the dry work paste construction method, the construction process is very fast and firm.
Relevant people said that the first step of using the thin sticking method is to check the wall to see if the wall is hollow and whether there is any cracking. If there is, it must be leveled first, then brushed with a layer of wall treasure (ie interface agent), and then level the wall with a level ruler, and do waterproof treatment, brushing treatment, etc.
The next step is to mix the thin paste mortar. It is divided into two steps. After the first step, you should leave it in place to wake up for five minutes, similar to the way you wake up the noodles when making steamed buns. Then carry out the second stirring, pay attention to the thin paste mortar that has been stirred should be used up within 2 hours.
Before tiling, wipe the back of all tiles with a damp cloth. For example, pure ceramic tiles will leave powder on the back during processing, and glazed tiles have a layer of white substance on them, which should be wiped off with a damp cloth. No need to use water bubbles, just wipe it with a damp cloth.
Next, apply an appropriate amount of thin paste mortar on the bottom of the construction, and use a spatula with a suitable tooth pitch at 60-70 degrees, comb it into a full strip along a straight line, and then press the tiles on the coated thin paste. On the base layer of the mortar, and ensure that it is fully pasted, adjust it to the appropriate position as required.
About the thickness of the sawtooth, it is generally divided into 3 types: 5mm, 8mm, and 15mm, which are selected according to the size of the tile. For general tiles, you can choose 8 mm. If the tiles are larger, they should be deepened.
At the same time, if the size of the tile is large, the reverse side of the tile should also be thinly coated with a thin layer of mortar, similar to applying a layer of glue, which can increase the firmness. If it is a small and medium-sized brick, you can ignore this step and paste it directly.
After pasting, pay attention to cleaning the wall in time. Thin-pasted mortar has higher firmness than cement mortar, and it is difficult to clean after a long time.
The first benefit of using the thin sticker method is to save space. The general thickness is only about 15 mm, of which 8-10 mm is the thickness of the tile, that is to say, the thickness of the thin mortar is only 5-7 mm. And if cement mortar is used, most of them have to reach a thickness of 20-25 mm.
In addition, the wall after the thin sticking method basically has no slippage and hollowing, and the sticking is more firm, and it will not fall off after a long time.
